What does the MG II IP67 rating cover, and how should I clean it?

With its port cover fully closed, MG II is protected against dust and temporary freshwater immersion under IP67 test conditions. Dry it completely before opening the cover or charging.

Short answer

MG II has IP67 water and dust protection. With the port cover fully closed, it is protected against dust and temporary freshwater immersion under IP67 test conditions. This does not mean it is designed for charging while wet, prolonged underwater use, high-pressure water, seawater or chemical liquids. Dry it completely before opening the cover or charging.

Use MG II around water

  1. Before taking MG II outdoors or near water, check that the port cover is fully closed.
  2. If the speaker becomes wet, do not open the port cover or connect a charging cable.
  3. Let the speaker dry completely before opening the cover or charging it.
  4. Keep it away from high-pressure water, seawater and chemical liquids. Do not use it for prolonged underwater use.

Clean and store MG II safely

  1. Switch MG II off before cleaning.
  2. Wipe the speaker with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  3. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  4. Keep the charging port dry. Store the speaker in a cool, dry place, and recharge it periodically during long-term storage.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Charging while the speaker is wet: wait until it is completely dry before opening the cover or connecting a cable.
  • Leaving the port cover open near water or dust: the stated IP67 protection applies when the cover is fully closed.
  • Using seawater, high-pressure water or chemical liquids: these uses are outside the stated care guidance.
  • Cleaning with solvent or abrasive products: use only a soft, slightly damp cloth.

IP67-Schutz, Reinigung und Pflege

MG II ist nach IP67 gegen Staub und zeitweiliges Eintauchen in Süßwasser geschützt, wenn die Anschlussabdeckung vollständig geschlossen ist. Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung nicht und laden Sie das Gerät nicht, solange es nass ist. Lassen Sie es vollständig trocknen, bevor Sie die Abdeckung öffnen oder ein Kabel anschließen.

  1. Prüfen Sie vor der Nutzung in Wassernähe, dass die Anschlussabdeckung vollständig geschlossen ist.
